Our Charity Journal
Throughout our existence we have always made charitable donations to local charities and supported Charities through our Customers. The Founder of Salisbury Poultry was born and brought up in the Bilston area and as a result the company has a very real connection with its locality and the local community. We are of the view that it is important to help where we can. We seek to assist the local community with our support of several local youth clubs, football teams and a boxing academy.
We regularly hold “Dress down Fridays” for our Office staff, who can wear casual clothes if they donate £1. The collected amount was accumulated over the year.
Salisbury’s 30th Anniversary!
In 2019 we celebrated our 30th Anniversary since the Company was founded by Raj Mehta.
On the 9th November 2019 we held 30th Anniversary Charity Ball celebrating this important milestone in the Company’s history. The black tie Dinner was held in Wolverhampton with over 300 guests attending. The event was attended by our employees, business partners, customers and suppliers who have supported us over the past 30 years.
The Company decided that the chosen charities would be Acorns Children’s Hospice and Cancer Research UK. Acorns provides support, fun and laughter for limited life and life threatened babies, children and young people and support for their families.
The event was supported by Sponsors and on the night monies were raised through various means including Heads and Tails, Auctions and Raffle. With the generosity of supporters and those in attendance on the night we were able to exceed all our expectations and raised sum of £50,000. We were overwhelmed with the generosity of our Suppliers and Guests with result that we were able to present two cheques to our nominated charities.

We held our regular Christmas Raffle with some great prizes donated by our Suppliers with all our employees taking part in the Raffle. In addition we took part in the Acorns Secret Santa where a wish list was prepared by Acorns and we donated numerous items off the wish list. All the monies raised were donated to Acorns Children’s Hospice.
This year we held the Christmas Jumper Day with all office staff wearing some hilarious Christmas Jumpers. The proceeds were donated to Save the Children.

Coffee mornings like this…
Finally, in the year we supported Macmillan Cancer Support with a Coffee Morning which raised £1282.
During this year the state of Kerala in India suffered from major monsoons, which resulted in flooding and substantial loss of life. We raised sum of £1500 for the Flood Relief fund.
The money raised from “Dress Down Friday” and the Christmas Raffle was donated to Penn Hall School, a local school that provides specialist facilities for disabled children.
An annual donation is also made to “The Haven”, a local charity that supports women and dependent children who are vulnerable to domestic violence, homelessness and abuse.
