Throughout our existence we have always made charitable donations to local charities and supported Charities through our Customers. We are of the view that it is important to help where we can. We seek to assist the local community with our support of several local youth clubs, football team and a boxing academy.
We regularly hold “Dress down Fridays” for our Office staff, who can wear casual clothes if they donate £1. The collected amount was accumulated over the year.
In Christmas 2017, we organised our first staff raffle with prizes gifted by both our suppliers and Salisbury Poultry. This was very well received by all staff and we raised in excess of £3000. We hope to make this event a yearly occurrence.
The money raised from both events was donated to Penn Hall School, a local special needs school.
An annual donation is also made to “The Haven”, a local charity that supports women and dependent children who are vulnerable to domestic violence, homelessness and abuse.
Our biggest charity event to date was the “Breathe and Beat Ball”, a black tie gala evening raising money for our local hospital New Cross. The money was raised for the Heart and Lung Department and due to the efforts of our sponsors and guests, we were able to raise the sum of £18,280.
Throughout 2018 our chosen charity was “The Good Shepherd Ministry” a local Charity that supports the homeless and others in need. We continued with our popular “Dress Down Friday” where office staff made a donation to wear their own clothes, this culminated in our annual Christmas Jumper day.
We also held a Christmas Raffle that was open to all of our employees with many prizes including a laptop and a games console amongst others. We raised a grand total of £2800 for this very worthwhile cause.
A team representing Salisbury Poultry, Maelor Foods and two other companies successfully completed a gruelling Charity Tough Mudder Challenge for The Anaphylaxis Campaign, Cancer Research and Alzheimer’s Research. In total the team raised an amazing £10,193.39.
Finally, in the year we supported Macmillan Cancer Support with a Coffee Morning which raised £1282 and for Kerala flood relief we raised £1500.
On Sunday 12th May, a few of us took part in this year’s Race For Life, in aid of Cancer Research, this is a fantastic Charity that holds a series of events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer.
We are extremely proud to say that we raised a grand total of £3923.00 and would like to thank you all for your contributions.
As Salisbury Poultry is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year we will be hosting a Charity Dinner and Dance Ball – please check back for further details.
